The Health Benefits of Cranberry: Cranberries aren’t just delicious, they’re also packed with surprising health benefits.The health benefits of cranberry as far as healthy foods go are at the top of the list due to their high nutrient and antioxidant content, and are often referred to as a “super food.” Not to mention that half a cup of cranberries contains only 25 calories.

Cranberries are not something very poplar in my country (Algeria), so when I think cranberry, I think thanksgiving, turkey, cranberry sauce…..etc. While cranberries are very popular this time of a year. I want to take advantage of sharing with you some of the health and beauty benefits of  cranberries.

Anti-Aging Properties: The antioxidants contained in cranberries will help your body to get rid of all the free radicals, which contribute to the aging process. They will not only help your skin to look young, but your internal organs will also be able to function longer without problems.


Treats Acne: The antiseptic properties of its  juice are very effective for treating acne on the skin. Cranberry juice is rich in resveratrol, an antioxidant which is very effective in minimizing acne and pimples. A mask made of cranberry juice as one of the primary ingredients brightens the skin and gives an instant fresh look.

Prevents Dental Problem: Consuming cranberries on a regular basis can help you to avoid dental problems such as; gingivitis, um disease, cavities and plaque build-up.

Fights tumors: Did you know that natural cranberry juice can fight cancer tumors? The little berries contain antioxidant compounds called polyphenols, which can help to stop the growth and spread of carcinogens. This means that you can effectively prevent the formation of tumors, and you’ll find that the little berries can fight against lung, colon, breast, prostate, and a number of other tumor types.

Good for Obesity: Cranberries are rich in organic acids, which have an emulsifying effect on the fat deposits in our body. So, they are good for people who want to shed those extra kilos. Drinking one cup of cranberry juice every morning could benefit weight loss along with your special diet and exercise.

Treats urinary tract  infection: Cranberry juice is known for its effectiveness in treating urinary tract infections because it inhibits bacteria from attaching to the bladder and urethra.


The health benefits of eating Cranberries are Multiples. Since I discovered them I have so many ways of including them in my diet.

Homemade Anti-Aging Cranberry Facial Mask



Blend the cranberries to a pulp. Mix in all other ingredients thoroughly. Apply to face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly before toning and moisturizing as usual. If you would like your masque to be thicker, add more clay. What you are left with is a radiant, exfoliated, hydrated, fresh face without spending the money on a professional facial.

Notes: How to pick good cranberries

Choose firm, plump, dark red berries. The should not be bruised, broken, shriveled, tough, or sticky.
